Hurricane Ida made landfall on August 29, 2021 as a category 4 hurricane and is recorded as the 2nd most intense hurricane to strike Louisiana. Damage was catastrophic in many areas and left local governments, rural communities and residents struggling to recover and rebuild in the aftermath.
