Who We Are

At Louisiana CASA, we believe that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment to grow and thrive. Our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program is dedicated to making this belief a reality for children in our state. Our mission is to build, support, and advocate for a statewide network of court appointed volunteers to speak for abused and neglected children. We are a passionate and committed group of volunteers, professionals, and community members who advocate for the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Louisiana CASA is the statewide association for the 18 local CASA programs serving all 64 parishes in the state.

What We Do

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for abused and neglected children’s best interests. They stay with each case until it is closed and the child is in a safe, permanent home. Our volunteers are independent voices who thoroughly investigate each child's unique circumstances and make recommendations to the court based on their best interests. Volunteers work with legal and child welfare professionals, educators and service providers to ensure that judges have all the information they need to make the most well-informed decisions for each child. Our goal is to provide stability and support during a challenging time in these children's lives.
